Model: HO gauge DC. Plan V electric multiple unit of the Dutch State Railways. Finely detailed model with many separately attached plug-in parts and filigree prototypical current collectors. Interior lighting installed as standard at the factory, can only be switched in digital mode.
Prototype: The two-part Dutch electric multiple unit Plan V – better known in the Netherlands as Mat ’64 or under the nickname Apekop (monkey head) – became one of the standard local trains of the Dutch State Railways from the mid-1960s. With a total of 246 units, it was the most frequently built NS multiple unit at the time. From the V3 series onwards, the new color scheme of the Dutch State Railways also became established on Plan V: bright yellow with gray details on the front and three blue, diagonal stripes on each side of the car. Until they were decommissioned, the multiple units were used on almost all electrified railway lines in the Netherlands.
