HO trailer IFA HL 80 Wernesgrüner

The cargo trailer from VEB Fahrzeugbau Kakerbeck/Kreis Kalbe-Milde (Saxony-Anhalt) was initially offered as E8 and later renamed HL.80 (HL = trailer truck / 80 = 8 tons payload). It was followed by the models HL 80.02, HL 81.01, HL 90.02 and finally the HL 91.02. The chassis is a welded construction consisting essentially of steel profiles. Even under poor driving conditions, the special turntable steering enabled good handling. The trailers, which were specially developed for forwarding and freight transport, had a particularly large loading space. The trailers were characterized by the favorable utility factor and the flexible driving behavior as well as the robustness, so that some of them are still in use today.
