Model: HO gauge. Kit. The Falkenstein Castle was built in the 13th century and already served Emperor Barbarossa as accommodation during the crusade. The strategically important castle, which was first mentioned in 1307 when Valchenstyn, first fell to Habsburg and lost importance in the following centuries. In 1905 the cultural-historically valuable but partially dilapidated complex was restored and is now one of the oldest and best preserved castles.
