Model: HO gauge DC. Electric locomotive E.656.009 of the Italian State Railways. Version with horizontal shock absorbers. FS Type 52 pantograph with curved contact strip. With many separately attached plug-in parts. Fine metal handlebars. In digital operation with individually switchable headlights or tail lights.
Prototype: The E.656 series is a six-axle Italian electric locomotive series nicknamed Caimano (German: Caiman). It is a further development of the E.636, E.645 and E.646 types, which also have a split locomotive body. However, they have different axle and pivot pin spacing compared to the E.636 type. The high tractive power and the maximum speed of 150 km/h enable them to be used in front of passenger and freight trains.
