Model: Gauge H0 direct current. Three-phase locomotive series E.432 „Trifase“ of the Italian State Railways. Finely detailed model with many separately attached plug-in parts and delicate current collectors. Prototype: In 1927, the Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) purchased a total of 40 rod-driven machines from the Società Ernesto Breda locomotive factory. The 94-tonne, 13,910 mm long machines with the axle configuration 1’D1′ were operated with three-phase current and had a continuous output of 2,200 kW. The E.432 could often be seen ahead of international express trains on the Brenner route in the 1950s. The Italian State Railways used the E.432 series until 1976.
