Model: HO gauge DC. Electric locomotive S 499.2002 of the Czechoslovak State Railways. Prototype: Version for an AC network. True to the original roof with air conditioning structure and signal horn group. Pantograph with innovative attachment and new pallet. Short handrails under the front windows. Modified transformer tray and complex design of the fan fins with a clear view. Filigree design of the bogies and the spoked wheels. With enclosed course clearers and air tanks for prototypical display cases. Train end signal can be switched using a DIP switch. With accompanying etched set of labels.
Prototype: In the second half of the 1970s, Skoda developed the 2nd generation of universal electric locomotives to renew the CSD fleet. This is where the S 499.2 series comes from. The letter „S“ stands for alternating current. The two prototype locomotives were delivered in 1984 and thoroughly tested. With an hourly output of 3,060 kW, a top speed of 120 km/h is reached. The series delivery of ten locomotives took place in 1988 with the new series designation 263. The machines are used in express and freight traffic.
