The power supply depends on the direction of travel and is provided by the front end car. Special close couplings with sliding guides. Interior lighting installed as standard. The three-light headlights and 2 red marker lights change over with the direction of travel and the interior lighting will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. The headlights on end cars 2 and 1 can be switched off separately in digital operation. The headlights have prototypical yellow and red LEDs. The interior lighting has warm white LEDs. The running gear and body are detailed. The Scharfenberg coupler with a cover is represented on the end cars. An additional rigid coupling is included for double traction. The NS class ICM (InterCityMaterieel) is an electric multiple unit for fast, comfortable intercity service. They are popularly called Koploper (literally head runners) because of the transitions at the front of the carriages. The driver’s cab is located in a panoramic pulpit above the crossing, which gives these coaches a very beefy appearance and is as typical of the Netherlands as Dutch cheese. Until 2005 it was possible to change from one part of the train to the other during the journey.1983 Talbot in Aachen started the series production of a three-part railcar, type designated as ICM-1, train no. 4011-4050. From no. 4051 the type designation changed to ICM-2. From 1990 the (previously three-part) ICMs were delivered as four-part cars (series ICM-3 and ICM-4). The prototype of the model 39425 corresponds to the use of Koploper 4015 in 1987 as Eurocity 67 „Admiraal de Ruyte“ Amsterdam – London for the route in the Netherlands to Hoek van Holland.
