Prototype: For decades, one of the special achievements of the 151 series was the transport of the heaviest ore trains in Western Europe between the North Sea ports and the Peine-Salzgitter steelworks as well as to Saarland. The trains reached loads of up to 5,700 tons. The vehicle was driven exclusively in double traction and with an automatic clutch, as the conventional screw clutch would not have been able to withstand the very high tensile forces.
