Model: OO gauge DC. The Class 411/9 EMU from South West Trains is a three-car electric multiple unit used on routes in the south of England. It is based on the original Class 411 EMU, which was built in the 1950s and 1960s for the electrified main lines in Kent. However, the Class 411/9 EMU has been extensively modernised with changes to the windows, interior, lighting and couplings. There are NEM coupling pockets at the ends of the model so that the train can be coupled with other units of the same standard. Integral current-carrying couplers based on close coupler mechanisms are mounted between the vehicles. These enable better power transmission and closer train formation. The Class 411/9 EMU has interior lighting that allows miniature passengers to spend a pleasant time in the train. The train also has a head signal that changes depending on the direction of travel.
